Available courses

This qualification prepares learners to set up a home based childcare setting as a registered childminder or to work as a nanny. There are specific units to complete for either of these roles.

Learners should be at least 16 years old. This is a knowledge-only qualification; therefore, no placement in a real work environment is required.

The qualification is suitable for learners wishing to work as:

  • registered childminders
  • childminding assistants
  • nannies
  • au pairs
  • other childcarers in home based settings.
Cost: £395 per person. Group discounts are available for more than 10 learners. 

Suitable for learners aged 18 and over, who are currently employed as an early years Level 3 practitioner.

It would suit learners who are looking to develop leadership and specialist skills for use in their current role, or in preparation to take on a specialist role such as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator or a Physical Activity and Nutrition Coordinator.

It would also suit learners who want to progress to further learning to take on a position of leadership within the setting.


This qualification is designed to support the development of registered managers of adult social care services. The qualification provides learners with the knowledge and skills needed to work in adult social care and to have responsibility for leading and managing a service. This will include managing and improving care and support for those accessing the service, supporting and developing the workforce, and driving the vision for their service or organisation.

Our 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Courses are blended learning and the courses fully meet the EYFS 2025 requirements. There are 6 hours of on-line learning and 6 hours of face to face training, where you will complete the practical elements.  It is preferable to complete the on-line elements BEFORE attending the face to face session. During the course you will learn how to assess a range of emergency situations and prioritise what action to take including:  

• Help a baby/child who is unresponsive and breathing normally.  

• Help a baby/child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally.  

• Help a baby/child who is having a seizure.  

• Help a baby/child who is choking.  

• Help a baby/child who is bleeding.  

• Help a baby/child who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss (hypovolemic shock).  

• Help a baby/child who is suffering from anaphylactic shock.  

• Help a baby/child who has had an electric shock.  

• Help a baby/child who has burns or scalds.  

• Help a baby/child who has a suspected fracture.  

• Help a baby/child with head, neck or back injuries.  

• Help a baby/child who is suspected of being poisoned.  

• Help a baby/child with a foreign body in eyes, ears or nose.  

• Help a baby/child with an eye injury.  

• Help a baby/child with a bite or sting. 

• Help a baby/child who is suffering from the effects of extreme heat or cold.  

• Help a baby/child having: a diabetic emergency; an asthma attack; an allergic reaction; meningitis; and/or febrile convulsions.  

• Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider (including appropriate contents of a first aid box and how to record accidents and incidents).

What does the qualification cover? This qualification will develop the knowledge and awareness of the types of provision in the Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s sectors. They include the roles played by workers – from principles and values through to health and safety and working with others.

What are the entry requirements? You should be at least 14 years old. 

How many credits are required to complete it? The Diploma requires 37 credits.

How is it assessed? It will be assessed by your Tutor or Assessor using a range of methods. This could include tasks such as designing charts or leaflets, coursework or methods such as oral questioning. This is a knowledge-only qualification and a placement is not mandatory.

How long does it take to complete? You can usually complete it in a year or less.

What related qualifications can you progress to? You can progress to a Level 2 qualification in either early years or health and social care.

What does this qualification cover?

The aim of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to 7 years of age with applied knowledge in the early years, 0-5 years. The qualification content meets the Department for Education’s (DfE) Level 2 full and relevant criteria for a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner in the workforce.

Who is it suitable for?

This qualification is ideal for learners looking to work with children between birth and 5 years, and gain knowledge of working with children up to 7 years. Learners do not need to have previous experience or qualifications in working with children to undertake this qualification.

What are the entry requirements?

Learners must be aged 16 or over. We do not set any other entry requirements but colleges or training providers may have their own guidelines.

How is this qualification structured?

To gain this qualification, learners must achieve a total of 37 credits from all 14 mandatory units.

How is it assessed?

All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods. Knowledge based outcomes can be assessed using non–mandatory assessment tasks provided for tutors’ convenience in this specification. Skills based outcomes must be achieved with reference to a real work environment and must include direct observation within the workplace.

How many credits are required to complete it?

To gain this qualification, learners must achieve a total of 37 credits from all 14 mandatory units.

How long will it take to complete this qualification?

This qualification will take approximately 12 months to complete.

Do you need to be working to take this qualification?

Learners will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement to show competence in both knowledge and skills. We recommend learners complete 250 placement hours whilst undertaking this qualification.

Placement opportunity must allow for skills application with babies and young children sufficient to meet the assessment criteria for the qualification.

What related qualifications can you progress to?

This qualification allows progression on to the Level 3 Early Years Educator qualifications and other relevant Level 3 qualifications relating to early years and child care.

Which type of job roles can you apply for on completion?

This qualification allows a learner to count towards the Level 2 ratio as a qualified Level 2 Early Years Practitioner across the Early Years Workforce.
Learners may work under supervision in a variety of roles such as:
• nursery practitioner
• classroom assistant
• pre-school practitioner.

About this qualification

The aim of this qualification is to prepare learners to become early years educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to five years and gain knowledge of children aged five to seven years.

Upon achievement of this qualification, it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as early years educators.

We offer group workshops every 2 weeks and 1:1 tutorials as and when needed.

Please note: Fast Track is available for this qualification, allowing learners to complete in 6 to 8 months. Learners must have a minimum of 3 years experience and be able to provide a range of existing evidence to support their portfolio. 

What does the qualification cover?

The Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) enables learners to gain the knowledge and experience which will allow them to work with children from birth to 5 years.
Upon achievement of the Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education it is intended that learners will be able to access higher education or enter the workforce as Early Years Educators.


What does this qualification cover?

This qualification aims to:
• Explore the roles and responsibilities of the Special Educational Needs Coordinator in an early years setting
• Understand the strategies and techniques for supporting children and their families
• Increase knowledge of SEN codes of practice

The objectives of this qualification are to help learners to:
• progress to further and higher education
• develop new practical skills in health and social care

About this qualification

This qualification is designed to support the development of leadership and management skills in early years and the knowledge and skills relating to early years practice.

Who is it suitable for?

It is suitable for learners already working in the early years sector in a managerial role, as well as learners that may wish to develop their career or increase their understanding through professional development.

What are the entry requirements?

Learners must be aged 19 or over to study this qualification. We do not set any other entry requirements, but colleges or training providers may have their own guidelines.

How is this qualification structured?

This qualification has 18 mandatory units.

How is it assessed?

All units are internally assessed and externally quality assured. Units EYE L5 SP 2 (F/651/1401) and EYE L5 SP 16 (M/651/1415) must be assessed using an externally set and internally marked assessment task.

How many credits are required to complete it?

121 credits.

Do you need to be working to take this qualification?

To be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills, learners will need to be working in the role of leader, deputy or manager in an appropriate setting, or have the opportunity to carry out responsibilities associated with these roles to be able to study for the Level 5 Diploma for the Early Years Senior Practitioner. The total number of mandatory work placement hours is a minimum of 300 hours.

Learners must have a minimum of 3 years experience at a supervisory/managerial level and be able to provide a range of existing evidence to support their portfolio, such as policies and procedures they have written, evidence of carrying out supervision and supporting others in a mentoring role. 

What does this qualification cover?

This qualification covers a range of key subject areas in health and social care and includes a bank of optional units, allowing learners to pursue an interest in chosen subject areas.

What is a nested qualification?

This qualification is nested. Qualifications within a nested suite allow learners to be topped up to a qualification that is the same level and subject within the Certificate, Extended Diploma structure. This can be done by self-service through the Portal. Qualification nests and top-up pricing can be found in our fees list.

Who is it suitable for?

This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 or above who wish to progress into further education or the workplace.

What are the entry requirements?

Learners should be at least 16 years old. We do not set any other entry requirements but colleges or training providers may have their own guidelines.

How is it assessed?

All units in this qualification are internally graded A* - D.

Do you need to be working to take this qualification?

Learners will not be required to attend placement in a Real Work Environment, however 30 hours or more of work placement is recommended in order to support their learning.

How long does it take to complete?

Learners will usually be able to achieve the qualification in one year.

What related qualifications can you progress to?

This qualification provides direct progression to our Level 3 Award, Certificate and Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care. Learners can also progress onto further learning at Level 3 and above.

Which type of job roles can you apply for on completion?

This qualification does not provide a licence to practise, but may support progression into a range of job roles in the health and social care sector, including:

• care support workers in adult residential settings
• healthcare assistants in community, primary care and acute health environments
• care support workers in domiciliary services, supported living or day services
• community-based support workers.


What does it cover?

This qualification covers a wide range of key subject areas in health and social care. The Extended Diploma includes a wide range of optional units, allowing learners to pursue an interest in the specific areas of social care, health studies and health sciences, while still allowing enough diversity for the optional units to be tailored to suit a learner’s preferred progression path.

Who is it suitable for?

This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 or above who wish to progress on to Higher Education.

This qualification is for learners aged 19 and above.

This qualification is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (for example a workshop, classroom or other training environment). You will need to assess two learners, each with a minimum of two units. We may be able to support you with this.

This qualification is suitable for learners aged 19+.

This qualification is intended for those who maintain the quality of assessment from within an organisation or assessment centre. You will need access to two assessors who are working with learners, to allow you to internally quality assure assessment processes and practice. 

The course can be completed in up to 3 months.

This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and above.

This qualification provides learners with the knowledge required by employers to work in a range of different environments in a customer service role.

Learners will have knowledge of principles and practices of effective customer service, including customer retention, resolving customer complaints and problems as well as understanding how customer service delivery affects customer expectations.
